"Farms, Families, Fairs, & Fun!" is our theme this year! Our Grand Marshal is a long-time FARMer involved in the Community! (Wait until tonight for the big reveal and give him your applause, please!) FAMILIES participating, spectating, volunteering! Be sure to visit the FAIR before and after the parade, it's loads of fun, fuzzy noses to be petted, and tasty treats to enjoy! FUN is what it's all about -- we're having FUN and hope you do to!!
Volunteers are as ready as can be, out and about, setting up tables, planting number stakes, and a myriad of other little details (that can't be seen but are crucial to the parade running smoothly).
Participants will be arriving late this afternoon and at 6:30pm our annual parade will step-off, traversing the streets of Cochranton!
The weather has potential for something other than sun (we aren't going to mention that 4-letter word starting with "R"), but the percentages are in our favor and if you're of the praying sort, please say a couple extra prayers for those stormy-type things to scatter away from Cochranton today. We ARE having a parade and we are planning on it being Picture Perfect and not too hot!
Our volunteers will be out and about and very busy today, so, unfortunately, calls will not be returned - we want to make sure tonight runs smoothly for everyone and we appreciate your understanding.
Please accept our thanks, too, for understanding that we are all volunteers who have families, jobs, and other organizations with which we donate our time. This summer has proven interesting for our crew to meet as several little things cropped up, trying to throw kinks in our planning time (e.g. our parade secretary fell & broke her hip in May with repair surgery later the same day -- you'll see her for a bit today, with her walker and some 4-wheeled transportation), but, our volunteers are wonderful people and the show has gone on!!
We hope you enjoy "the show" a.k.a. the annual Cochranton Community Fair Parade, tonight, Wednesday, August 8, 2018!! Bring your lawn chairs (and a container to collect the candy...), your appetites (be sure to visit the fair before and after the parade for some delightful Firemen's Fries, Presbyterian Hot Sausage, Catholic Church Funnel Cakes, Methodist Taco Salads and Loaded Baked Potatoes, Lemonade, and Many More Tasty Treats throughout the fairgrounds!)!!
