    GENERAL Application to Participate 2026

    Responsible Party will make sure areas utilized by this participant entry are clean prior to parade step-off and that, in the case of horse units, the parade route is free of manure prior to parade step-off.  Additionally, horse units will make sure manure is cleaned up during the parade so that others do not have walk/march/drive/perform through manure in the streets.
    ALL PARTICIPANTS:  Areas at the line-up area and end-point should be left in the same manner in which you find them -- please pick up your litter and utilize the garbage cans provided!
    ALL UNITS, including horses and animal units, must complete the parade route -- exceptions granted for emergency service personnel and vehicles.
    **HORSE AND ANIMAL UNITS:  Please fill out the additional form and include with your application to participate!

    ALL SECTIONS MUST BE COMPLETED OR YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED -- if not related to your group, please mark "N/A"

    • I, the Responsible Party signing below, do understand that my horse and/or animal unit MUST have a clean-up person (or persons) on site the day of the parade and will keep our area clean and free of manure.  If my unit does not have a "pooper scooper" on site, my unit will NOT be permitted to participate in the parade.  I do understand that parade officials will check on the horse and animal units to make sure there is someone cleaning up after the animals. 
    • The clean-up person(s) MUST check-in at the sign-in desk.
    • I further understand that horse and other animal units that have not applied for participation in the parade will not be permitted. 
    • I understand that the parade instituted a no walk-in policy several years ago and this will be enforced.
    • I also recognize that the parade is organized entirely by volunteers who are not responsible for cleaning up after my animals; by the same token, the townspeople are not responsible for manure left on their property by my animals.  I will make sure manure etc. produced by my animals is cleaned up promptly before, during, and after the parade. 
    • I understand that not cleaning up after my animals will result in my being disqualified from participating in future parades.
    • I agree that my unit will complete the parade route as outlined from the Cochranton Elementary School parking lot to the Cochranton High School parking lot.  My unit will not abort the parade to take a short-cut back to the fairgrounds or my vehicles. 
    • I understand that not completing the parade route will disqualify my participation for future parades.
